Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran is an essential hub for domestic air travel in Iran and a familiar gateway for anyone flying within the country. It’s a large, bustling airport with multiple terminals that serve different airlines and types of flights — including regular domestic routes and dedicated pilgrimage flights during peak seasons. The layout can feel a bit confusing if it’s your first time: Terminals 1 and 2 sit together and handle flights for major carriers like Iran Air and Qeshm Air, while Terminals 4 and 6 serve many of the other domestic airlines. Terminals 3 and 5 are mainly for Hajj and Umrah groups, so regular passengers may not encounter those. Facilities are fairly comprehensive for a domestic airport. There are plenty of cafés, restaurants, and shops in the terminals where you can get coffee, snacks, or last-minute travel essentials. You’ll also find ATMs, bank services, prayer rooms, and waiting areas. The airport even offers rest facilities like capsule-style pods, which are handy if you have a long wait or a delay. Getting to and from the airport is reasonably straightforward thanks to metro access (with stations for Terminals 1/2 and 4/6) as well as buses, taxis, and ride-share options. Parking is available in several multi-level and open-air lots, which helps if you’re driving yourself. The airport can feel busy, especially at peak hours, and signage isn’t always intuitive for first-time visitors. Some travelers mention that cleanliness and terminal access could be improved compared with large international airports elsewhere. Overall, Mehrabad Airport does a solid job as a domestic travel hub. It’s well connected and equipped with useful services, but allow extra time to navigate between terminals and check in for your flight.

Hello everyone I never ever share someone photo like this before but at this point I’m sharing my experience to warn others people about this taxi driver which you can see in the photos. I was with him from Mehrabad airport to imam Khomeini airport I had international flight. I was inside Mehrabad airport and there was a lady from taxi business I went there i was agreed with the price VIP 1316000 and take a photo for prof. When I reached the imam Khomeini airport and I want to pay the taxi driver suddenly changed his mind and ask for usd dollars and I say that I’m going to Europe not to America and I don’t have usd dollars than he said that I’m not accepting 1316000 you have to give me 400000 which is more than two time than agree fare. And than he looked my bags in his car trunk than I ask help from police but doesn’t work and last he agreed for 3000000 which two time than agreed fare and I paid to him because I didn’t had any other option. And I was really tired that day and it’s really painful when someone taken your money like this way . If you want to be safe and fine so remember this stupid and fornicator taxi driver .
