We came here with a group of friends (including two infants!) and had the best experience. The staff were incredibly accommodating and welcoming, which made the whole evening feel relaxed and enjoyable. The food was outstanding - there were so many things on the menu we wanted to try. My partner and I ordered the Vaziri and Lamb Shank with Dill Rice and both were absolutely delicious. Our 14 month old son LOVED the Vaziri - beef and chicken kebab - both were juicy and succulent. The atmosphere was warm and lovely, perfect for a long, enjoyable meal. We had such a great time and can’t wait to come back.
We were craving Persian food so tried out Khaghan for the first time. Everything was delicious, our group ordered the Loghme, Vaziri, and Lamb Shank. We started with the eggplant dip. Portions are generous. The space is really comfortable. I noticed there’s an event space upstairs, took a peek and it’s a beautiful space. They told me it fits over 100. Will definitely come back to try more of the menu.
Unfortunately, I had to change my review because the second time I went to the restaurant, they served me meat that tasted really bad. It seemed like the meat was spoiled. The restaurant was empty, and the staff member was vacuuming while I was there. Being alone in the restaurant with the noise of the vacuum seemed very inappropriate to me. Although the restaurant is very beautiful, the food and atmosphere leave a lot to be desired.
Khaghan is a well recognised name to Vancouver locals for Persian cuisine, and is a ‘go to’ place for both day-to-day meals and for large group catering (both corporate or special occasions). The restaurant in North Vancouver is inside a shopping mall where access and parking are easy. The dining area is large, well decorated, and serves as a very capable events venue with both indoor/outdoor spaces. My wife and I came here for lunch after a big sporting event. The food from their standard menu was delicious, filling and (by this city’s standards) good value for money. Our favourite was the eggplant and flatbread - a simple but well executed dish with a memorable smoky flavour. In addition to their regular menu offerings, we hear a lot about their Sunday breakfast, which serves different food and is a standalone experience (and definitely deserving a separate visit). Whether you are an aficionado for Persian cuisine or a first-timer, there is definitely something for everyone here.
This was the most delicious Persian stew we’ve ever enjoyed in Canada, and the kebab was simply wonderful! The service truly made our experience even better. We highly recommend this spot for anyone craving authentic and tasty Persian cuisine.
